In case you guys are wondering why and how on earth these 37 individual managed to come as one, we are all part of a highly functional class, 4B residing in a highly disfunctional school. We have many talents in our class, feedback always comes back as "a pleasure to teach!". 4B is the unusual unition of 37 fun loving and H**** people. We have been together for close to two years, and all we can say is, I'M LOVING IT.
The time is now, the place is here. Stay in the present. You can do nothing to change the past, and the future will never come exactly as you plan or hope for.
- Dan Millman
It started with a meeting with Mrs.Pang and Miss Teo. We were discussing about the CIP plans for year 2009. Mrs Pang was sharing about her plan to go SAS with SLC club and there I was, thinking about how good it will be to bring the entire 4B to SAS, to have an extraordinary experience that can never be obtained from classroom lesson as well as a class bonding. That was how the decision was made (only be me..ooppss) and proposed to 4B during lessons (without accepting 'no' as an answer :P ) I was glad there were no strong objections =) I do hope that all of you had an unforgettable experience yesterday. Instead of saying that we were there to bless the old folks, I would like to take a different perspective. How about we were there to be blessed?
1. We are blessed with the chance of performing as a class. 2. We were blessed with the chance of feeding them. 3. We were blessed with the chance of pushing them to their beds. 4. We were blessed with the chance of holding their wrinkled hands full of warmth. 5. We were blessed with the chance of shedding tears for them. 6. We were blessed with the chance of being compassionate and making a difference in their day. 7.We were blessed with their smiles and claps. 8. We were blessed with the chance of doing something meaningful this festive season. And many many many more...
Your little kind gestures were captured and fondly remembered =)
1. James for coordinating this event. You never hesitate to go forward to serve them. 2. Wen an, Rujun and Top being our guitarists. The class is blessed to have you. 3. Rebecca for taking over the mic and singing so gracefully =) As Lynn said, someone with a big heart. 4. Yu-cheng for just being there to rehearse for the songs (especially doing so for Wen an? :P) 5. Fariz and Andy for singing so loudly =) I could hear your voices.. maybe for the fun and laughter that you have brought to the class.. the piggy back (though it was a little dangerous ar!!!) 6. Willy for being so enthusiastic in pushing and communicating with the old folks 7. Ronal for trying to be part of the conversation with the old folks despite the language barrier. The handshakes and the subtle smile means a lot =) 8. Jasmine Neo for being the first to feed the old folks.. the old folks loved your performance (you must be quite happy when she guessed your age as 15 years old). Li Ying, thanks for playing too =) 9. Lynn for taking the big step to serve them (it does break our hearts to see them) 10. Auntie Tan and Jasmine Koh for taking photos =) Both of you have captured meaningful shots 11. Wang Miao for putting in the effort though she can't speak any dialects 12. Xiao Xia for coordinating the flow of the programmes. You looked stressed up which shows that you care and you are responsible. 13. Chester for being there for his friends. It was touching when you purposely waited for Kee Loke. 14. Siti and Pricia - initially you girls looked shy but glad you girls took a step further 15. Sabina for being the big sister and encouraging your classmates to approach the old folks. You served the old folks so naturally =) 16. The trying to be cool Keeloke chit chatted with one of the Auntie, pushed the wheel chairs and helped to stack up the chairs after the entire event. 16. Yuanting, Yanning, Marini,Megawati and Li Ying for serving the old folks so gently and with a big smile =)
I feel blessed to have such a form class =) I am so proud of all of you!!
